How to hire a hypnotist show like ‘Back in The Room’ for your venue

book a show like you're back in the room
If you have seen either the first or second series of Back in the Room starring Philip Schofield and stage hypnotist Keith Barry you are probably wondering how can I book a comedy stage hypnotist show like back in the room.
Britain's got tallent, Krystina Lennon Hypnodog
You may even have seen stage hypnotists performing on ‘Britain’s got Talent’ last year, there were a few including Krystina Lennon and Hypnodog!
These two shows aroused a lot of interest from the general public last year and I am sure it will again this year when it is back on the television. Most popular stage hypnotists saw a massive increase in bookings and more importantly massive increase in audiences after these two shows had been transmitted.
The truth is there are many comedy stage hypnotists working in the UK today. Some full time and many part time and they have varying levels of experience and ability. Some of them have little or no experience.
Since the dawn of the internet there are many courses and books available, most of these are conducted or written by poor or failed stage hypnotists themselves. There seems to have been a trend for hypnotists who are not good enough to make a full time living at the art to sell their secrets to make some money that way. Unfortunately this has lead to a crop of poor performers.

How do I book a good performer?

Do not despair, there are still many good comedy stage hypnotists available and I will try and point you in the right direction.

Public liability insurance

Anyone you are going to hire to perform a stage hypnotist show for you should have at least one million pounds of public liability insurance and the important question to ask is “does this policy cover in trance?” there are some inferior policies that do not include this cover and what that would mean to you was if someone was to fall over or something worse whilst under the hypnotists instruction there would be no protection and even worse, you as the organiser would be jointly liable!

PAT Testing

Any electrical equipment the hypnotic performer is using should have an up to date PAT test certificate. This is a legal requirement in many venues and also an indicator as to whether you are dealing with a competent professional

Risk Assessment

This is not usually a legal requirement but an indicator as to how much someone has thought about the show they are providing and their consideration for the safety of their subjects.

Experience

‘Not all stage hypnotists are equal’ – some are in experienced, some are incompetent and some are just not funny!
It is reasonable to ask someone how long they have been performing , how many shows they have done and if they have performed at a similar event / occasion to yours.

References

Any performer worth their salt will be more than happy to offer you the names of previous bookers. Don’t be afraid to ask for similar venues / occasions to yours and check these references are recent.

Videos

It is always worth searching YouTube and Facebook for videos of their stage hypnosis performance, I would not accept videos they sent me or tried to steer me towards as they are only going to offer you what they want you to see. Remember what you are looking for:- are they funny? Are they safe? Are they performing at a similar venue / occasion to yours? Would your guests / clients enjoy watching this?

Who should I book?

Well I am only going to recommend one person, aren't I? Of course it should be ME! Adam Night! if you would like to check out my websites for more details they are www.adamnight.co.uk and www.bookahypnotist.co.uk

Christmas party entertainment

Well, Christmas isn't far away now (less than 8 weeks) and I am getting well booked up with company christmas parties!
At the tine of writing I only have one Saturday night available (although I do have a few early shows this year, so there is a possibility I may be able to double up on a few, depending on where the enquiries are for!).
I do still have some midweek and Sunday availability and I have not sold new years eve yet if anyone wants some alternative entertainment this New Year.
If you know someone who is still looking for a great Christmas party entertainer then please tell them to check out www.adamnight.co.uk
P.S. bookings now being accepted for 2015 and beyond!

Carlos Tevez, Rylan & Chris from X Factor and the Hypnotist

Hi
Just got back from a mini break at Euro Disney with my family, but it seems it was a popular week there!
Whilst there I spotted Carlos Tevez from Manchester City and Rylan and Chris from the X factor!
Managed to take a couple of bookings for next March for the Comedy Stage Hypnotist Show, but still got some December dates left to sell, so if you know anyone still looking for Christmas party entertainment please ask them to get in touch.

Christmas party entertainment

This year is proving to be the latest booking ever!
I have already sold many of my prime Christmas party nights but do still have a lot of what many people consider prime dates available.
I have always advocated booking early to reserve the dates you really want, however this year may still prove to be the exception to the rule.
If your company is still looking for something different, something fast funny and tastefully for your Christmas party then give me a call and we can discuss either the comedy hypnosis show or the power of the mind show.
Also remember I am now accepting bookings for next year!

The Power of the Mind Show

Hi
Some of you may already know about the new show that I launched earlier this year, "The Power of the Mind Show", this is being very well received, although the bookings have been a little slow this year.
I have also built upon this idea and got in on the tribute market!
I am now offering a full evenings entertainment with my "Tribute to the work of Derren Brown and Paul McKenna", an evening of comedy hypnosis and mentalism as it's meant to be!
The early signs from agents and Booker's indicate this could be very popular next year!
For anyone who is not sure what this new show is all about it is probably best decribed as a 40 - 60 min performance of mentalism with the emphasis on humour and audience participation in the best possible taste.
It is, of course, all delivered with the usual Adam Night sense of humour and professionalism.
This new show is offered as either an alternative or alongside the existing comedy stage hypnotist show.

Ask the audience to phone a friend!

Well, 18 years in the business and I still haven't seen it all!
A new one for me at the weekend, got to my venue and set up, met the manager who told me they were expecting about 110 people, great I thought!
At 8:30 there are only 18 people in the room, the manager is still insistent that he wants the show to go ahead, so he goes on the microphone and asks the 18 people if they can get on their mobiles and try and get some more people down to the venue! (alas it did not work).
However, much to my surprise, when I asked for volunteers I got 7 people and hypnotised them all, and we had a great show!!! (although not much atmosphere from the ones left in the audience due to lack of numbers in a big room).

My Family holiday

After a busy Christmas we decided to take the family away on a skiing holiday to Finland.
This turned out to be possibly the best holiday I have ever had.
I would thoroughly recommend Ruka for anyone looking for a child friendly family resort.
I have put a link to some of our photos if anyone is interested. http://s602.photobucket.com/albums/tt102/ADAMNIGHT1/

New Website!!!

Hi

This seems like a good time to restart though because I have just relaunched one of my websites.

Meet and greet hypnotist!

I have just performed at a wedding reception!
Nothing unusual in that, in fact they usually go really well and I like doing them.
The problem - I originally thought I was going to have about 70 guests, on arrival I find out that there are only about 35 guests and about 4 of them are children, plus the bride and groom have decided to keep my performance a surprise.
The venue is not ideal either, on entering the building you come into a foyer, off to the right is the room they are holding the wedding breakfast in, next to it is a doorway to the bar and toilets, on the other side is a small room and another doorway to the kitchens etc.
The hotel manager originally suggested I set up in the small room until I pointed out there would be no where for the guests to view the show from, then we decided to move the show to the foyer, I set up my PA etc and sound checked then to find a mobile disco arriving and wanting to use the same area as me!
On discussion with the DJ we decide to loose my equipment and I plug in through his system.
This then led to a very unusual result, In my 'optimism!' I have decided to set up with 4 chairs, despite there only being about 30 adults, it being a surprise cabaret, there being no seating for my audience and the limiting conditions I manage to get 12 volunteers and work 9 of them. It was a really good show and everyone, young and old, thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

Feeling old!

I recently performed at a holiday camp in Great Yarmouth and although the show absolutely rocked, I left feeling a bit long in the tooth!
The camp entertainer that was to operate my sound during my show informed me that he had seen my show before!
He told me that he used to watch me perform every year when he and his family used to go to Pontins when he was about 10 or twelve and that I had already hypnotised his dad once!
Afterwards he was very complementary and said the show was awesome, even better than he remembered it!

"First Choice" International hypnotist!

Yes, I am now officially THE First Choice Hypnotist!

Well, I have just come back from doing a 4 day 'fly back' for 'first choice holidays' to Cyprus.

They contacted me at short notice and I was available for the days that they wanted and it all came together. I had a great time working out there and, according to the feedback from the booking agent, I went down really well!

Now waiting to see if there is any more, there is a rumour that they want me to go to Egypt next!

Great graffiti!

Hi, I was doing a gig, a football club presentation night, at a pub in Sunderland last night and saw some great graffiti on the dressing room wall.
The venue had a nice little stage with lots of black and silver curtains all over it, someone had written on the dressing room wall "Remember, if it all gets too much, walk to the back of the stage, go through the curtains and you will be in Narnia!"
This appealed to my sense of humour!

I've been lazy!

Sorry all!
I've had loads to write, but just don't seem to have the time.
I promise that I will try and catch up on a few of the interesting stories, but the next one is the one that inspired me to start blogging again!

Psychic / spiritualist and the hypnotist!

Well I have always considered myself a bit of a sceptic, I know a little bit about magic, mindreading and cold reading etc and therefore did not believe much about psychics / spiritualists etc.
I have just worked on the same bill as Ken Murray, 'the psychic cabbie' I was very impressed!
If it is not real I do knot know how he could get the messages from the other side that he appeared to be getting.
Plus what a great night, it was a sell out and the audience loved it!
He opened the show with this amazing display of very personal messages for people, he blew their minds! Then I came on with the comedy hypnosis and rocked the night!
I was so impressed that I have teamed up with Ken and added another page to my website to promote the new package show. http://www.adamnight.co.uk/psychic%20and%20hypnotist.htm
